Score A lot more Than Touchdowns on Xbox Madden 10

If learning about all the new stuff still hasn't made you excited about Xbox Madden 10, then maybe a visit to video gaming's not-so-distant past can put things into perspective. On one hand, it's probably not too cool to say Xbox Madden 10 is great, just because it stands out next to crap from 30 years ago. But it helps to see how much progress has been made in football video games, by taking a glance at the earliest video games and comparing them to Xbox Madden 10. Certainly, there was a huge, untapped market for football video games, when the first generation of console games made their debut. Only problem was, the gamers' ideas on what a great football video game should be, versus the reality of the video game consoles' capabilities, made for a shaky compromise. Even then, the game companies were excellent at the hype, and kept boasting that this one boasted "all the excitement" of real football. The characters on the gridiron are more suited to a sci-fi shooter than a football video game. Rough, but true. The photo may be underwhelming, but the game itself is even more so. An early symptom of the low-tech nature of older video games was graphics that just blinked like crazy, rendering the action impossible to read. Audio was as awful as the video. Another disappointment - the screen didn't (or just couldn't) scroll. In a short matter of time, the competitors entered the video game console field, and brought out their take on a more realistic football video game. It had made the necessary innovations to make sports video games some serious business - the characters were animated better, without the same graphical setbacks, and this time, there was a scrolling screen, a necessity for football video games. A step in the right direction, but work needed to be done still. No doubt, it was a real exciting time for hardcore gamers, but there was still a ways to go before football video games would dominate the industry. Several years would pass before that came to pass. Technology had caught up, albeit slightly, to gamers' football desires, to the point where this game has taken on an iconic status for gamers today. For quite a while, this was considered the greatest football video game by the video game world.

Can't argue with the fact that the hardcore gamers did take to this one - for the first time, the NFL got the red-carpet treatment from a football video game. It was an amazing evolution in football video games, and this one was really a major turning point. Today, there's even a new incarnation of the game, and with that is a renewed reverence for it. However, it doesn't even come close to what Xbox Madden 10 offers. With the great strides in gaming, football video games have reached a level worthy of the fans. We've had a few chuckles, but mocking less advanced video games isn't a productive use of our time. We think you understand. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Of course, Xbox Madden 10 has really kicked this one over the goal posts, which has the video game world pretty pleased. The fans aren't the only ones raving about Xbox Madden 10 - the critics have said their piece, and they're into it. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. Xbox Madden 10 is another monster hit for EA Sports, though we think you could predict that one. There are always going to be the haters, but pay no attention - Xbox Madden 10 rules. Not to put down any other Xbox sports video games, which have certainly earned their solid rep, but Xbox Madden 10 is just the best of the best. It's the favorite of hardcore gamers, and with good cause. Better still, the true gamers know that this is the arena which will separate the wheat from the chaff, after you play video games for money. It's a great time to be an Xbox Madden 10 expert - now you can slug it out for some real money. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
